Terry Polevoy, MD, is a Canadian pediatrician who has run the consumer advocacy website, HealthWatcher, since 1997. He has since added several other specialty websites that also alert the public about “alternative and complementary” products and practices. Dr Polevoy has appeared numerous times on television and radio programs to discuss cancer quackery, problems in the nutraceutical and weight loss industries, and plastic surgery scams. He also has been an outspoken opponent of the anti-vaccination movement.
Dr Polevoy completed his medical degree at the Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit. He completed his pediatric residency at the University of Western Ontario and at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.
